As a student I have experienced Providing Descriptive Feedback in my English class when writing a comparative essay. My teacher provided me with constructive criticism where I could improve or add more depth to my writing and he also provided feedback with what was well written or expressed. This gave me the opportunity to see if I was on the right track while meeting the success criteria and expectations. I was able to take that feedback and edit my work to improve my writing. This strategy helps support my understanding of formative assessment because my teacher was checking in to see where I was at with my work and helped support my needs by providing feedback. Providing feedback helped foster growth in my learning to push my ideas and writing further, to create a stronger essay.
